Dale glides effortlessly through the inter-dimensional gateways once more, to bring you a special live episode direct from the Deep Night. Recorded in front of a mostly awake audience at The Slipper Room in New York City, Dale welcomes the tenth season of the program in style with leading comedians and writers from some of TV and podcasting’s biggest hits.
From the Las Culturistas podcast, actor and comedian Matt Rogers joins Dale, beer in hand, ready to woo Brooke Shields at a later engagement. We find out Matt loves Star Wars but isn’t wild about his Calvin Klein jeans. From The President Show, comedian Rae Sanni talks about writing for that program, and she and Dale try to solve one of life’s greatest mysteries. Writer Kristen Bartlett works for Saturday Night Live, but we mostly talk about other stuff, like the Emmy Awards (which might be a scam), and Who’s Who in American High Schools (which is definitely a scam), and her time working for Garrison Keillor on Prairie Home Companion. And finally comedian Melinda Taub, writer for Full Frontal with Samantha Bee talks about her own Emmy experience and the challenges of keeping up appearances in rented gowns. Plus some talk of rituals, things we bury in backyards, and Dale’s sagging efforts to get people to buy his essential oils. With cosmic musical accompaniment from the one and only Cornelius Loy on the theremin.
Next live show is Weds, November 15th at the Slipper Room. Save the date!
