Dale shines a curious light into the climate-controlled stacks of the ultra-rare book section for a discussion with librarian and author, Megan Rosenbloom. Dale talks with Megan about her new book, Dark Archives, which details her decade-long journey to discover the origins and authenticity of books bound in human skin. Creepy? Undoubtedly. But also a fascinating real-life detective story that tracks down the unusual histories and peculiar personalities behind some of the most unnerving objects ever created. Dale and Megan also discuss inspiring trips to the Mütter Museum, growing up with an appreciation for fine craftsmanship, and whether an object itself – say a book covered in human skin – can be considered cursed. Plus Dale dreams of being young again and maybe has his first yes from a potential new member of the commune.
To purchase Megan’s book, Dark Archives, it’s available for pre-order now – or everywhere after October 20th. Find your local bookseller or place and order via bookshop.org.
If you think you have a book lying around that may be a little out of the ordinary – you can also drop them a line at the Anthropodermic Book Project.
